Katie and Peter's Mini Photodate in Providence

Posted by Trish:

I finally got the chance to meet Katie and Peter last week here at the office, we then headed out for a little photo excursion around Davol Sqaure. The evening light was amazing and we are so lucky to be right in the city with so many great little spots for photos! This is just a non impressive spot under the old highway. It's sometimes hard to tell people how great it is even if it's not a 'pretty' background. It's all about the light, doesn't matter where you are!

This is under the new 195 bridge, a weird sensation being under all of those cars going over.

I love the way she is looking at Peter in this shot.

So I actually did meet Katie once a long time ago for just a minute. When she was in college (Babson in Wellesly)she babysat for a good friend of mine who lives up in Wellesly.

When she left college and moved to San Francisco she met Peter, guess where he is from...Wellesly! Small world!

They are totally adorable...as you can see here.

There was a lot of pressure here on me to pick only photos where Katie's hair looks good. But I can't tell, I feel like it looks good in all the photos, I'm nervous. I guess if this post mysteriously disappears one day we'll know why.

They are getting married at the new Ocean House in Watch Hill in October...cannot wait to go there!!!!

This is Katie's grandmother's ring, she offered it to her right after she met Peter, she knew he was a keeper. Not that she would have, but how could she say no after he presented her with this ring?!?!

Thanks for getting together with me in the city. See you in the Fall!!!!

Carolyn and Dan's Photodate in Newport

Posted by Trish:

I drove down to second beach last week to meet up with Carolyn and Dan who are getting married in October. I realized that this was my first trip to the beach this summer, in any capacity. So I was feeling lucky to have gotten the chance to be there and appreciate the beautiful weather and this beautiful place where I live, I love Little Rhody!
Look what we found in this clam shell...

They were a little nervous starting out, as usual. Carolyn was worried about Dan, but it turned out that she was more nervous that he was!

I would encourage couples to do a few tequila shots in the car before your portrait session, not really, but if it helps...

She doesn't really need tequila anyway, she's a natural beauty!

Is there anything more romantic than walking on the beach on a warm summer evening? I don't think so. Well maybe a few things but this is in the top 3 for sure!

See, the romance is oozing!

We were at second beach in Newport, it's so fabulous there, rocks, grass, sand. I guess that is what there is at every beach...but it seemed particularly fabulous to me for some reason.

Oh, I forgot to mention rose hips, lots of those too.

They will be getting married in October up in the Boston area, so these photos will be nothing like their wedding photos, kind of fun.

Oh man, that evening light is amazing!

Classic!

Ah, the weeds never looked so good!

I figured I better get a few that actually show the beach and water in the background...

Oooh, hot stuff Carolyn!

What an awesome night! Thanks guys, can't wait to see you again in October!

Jen + John's Photodate in Hoboken, NJ

Posted by Mariah:

If we were playing that game, Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?... only Carmen Sandiego was me and you guessed Hoboken NJ... you'd be right!
Why am I in Hoboken? Well- because Jen and John live there and they are as cute as a button. Who could say no to these three faces? (Especially the furry one).

I've never been to Hoboken, although we have quite a few clients living there... Hey, there's NYC across the river.

Jen and John met in Hoboken while Jen was going to school there. Turns out Hoboken is very cute and neighborhood-y (it's only one square mile!) We walked all around taking photos.

Meet Tango- she's from Puerto Rico. J + J adopted her from a surf shop/ animal shelter on the beach. They had her flown into Newark airport. I think she looks like me in the 80's with two big teased pony tails. She's very hair band- in her case we'll say fur band.

She's insanely cute- and well behaved. She walked all around with us off leash like a nice young lady. Not like her mom Jen who was reprimanded by campus police for climbing a tree (we didn't even get a photo before we were busted).

John is a studying for the bar. If he doesn't pass (which of course he will) I would suggest stand up comedy as a second career choice- he's very funny!

Plus, he's cute.

Jen went to school for engineering. She's brains + beauty- the total package. Oh, and she also has the best freckles.

John was amused by the "gazing at the water photos."
Feels cheesy- but who's looking like a male model now huh?
Told you so!

Snuggling on the pier.

J + J were not convinced I could get a good shot of Tango, she's usually not very photogenic. I disagree- she almost steals the show!

Thanks for showing me around Hoboken- it was so fun to see you guys on your home turf. Plus, meeting Tango was worth the trip alone. See you guys in August for the big day!

Newport Wedding Photography, Jillian + Kevin's Photodate

Postec by Mariah:

The countdown is on! Jillian and Kevin met me in Newport on Friday the 24th... 2 weeks to go until their wedding at Rosecliff. They had spent the day running around to all of their appointments in Newport and Bristol... and by 7pm they were still suprisingly chipper. I think they just happen to be nice people!
Jillian has vericality issues, and by that I mean she's short.
Good things defenitley come in wee little packages. How cute is she?

How about thathose long gorgeous locks too?

My fav pic! They are so relaxed, they might just zonk out.

Who says that Kevin is not one for PDA? I beg to differ...

I love this one too. We were at the beach at the PERFECT time of night.

Next stop... thrid beach. Once I was yelled at by a dishelved crazy guy at this spot who said I was trespassing. Pish posh! J + K have got my back just in case though...

Jillian is a social worker at a highschool in the Bronx! Kevin is in finance... they are nicely balanced.

A portrait of each for their respective desks... awh.

The night just kept getting prettier and prettier.

I think Kevin might have even been enjoying himself at this point!

And of course- ba-bling!

J+K- it was so great to finally meet you! I'm happy I won't be a stranger on the wedding day. See you in a couple weeks! xoxo Mariah
