A Taste of Perfection!

Trish and I ventured to Newport last week to visit the new office of Mark and Marie Soliday of Confectionary Designs. We wanted to see how the decorating was coming along... Mark and Marie had a surprise for us though!

We got the royal treatment... a tasting experience, and it was as delicious as it looks!

A beautiful display cake with delicate white flowers. This cake would be perfect for a wedding with an ocean-y vibe.

A topsy turvy cake with delicate handmade sugar flowers.

The cake master, Chef Soliday.

We created these fun Cake-spiration Boards for their office.

Mark took this shot of us digging in.
Trish is good sampling the fruit while I dig straight into the frosting.

Fun!!!

I am making short work of my samples. I especially enjoyed the German Chocolate frosting with the chocolate cake and the lemon frosting with the yellow cake.

I can totally fit this bite in my mouth.

What a fantastic taste-tacular experience!!! Thanks Marie and Mark. The new office looks great!

Elissa and Sam at The Chanler 5.16.09

Saturday I went to The Chanler at the Cliff Walk in Newport for the wedding of Elissa and Sam. Elissa and I have gotten friendly while she works for my boyfriend at Bebop Burrito in Warren (shameless plug). Elissa is going to grad school, but in her spare time expertly wraps burritos at Bebop!

Sam and Elissa planned an intimate and beautiful wedding with the help of Stasia Anthony of Exquisite Events, so I was excited to be a part of their plans. Toni Chandler created the gorgeous springtime arrangements and bouquets.

Elissa and her cousin Lara put on the finishing touches. It was fun to see Elissa all glammed up- usually I see her wearing a cowboy hat and jeans. She's cute in that too- but it's probably better suited for burritos than brides.

So pretty!

Sam is pretty handsome himself! He's got a great smile and is super sweet.

Elissa is trying to take it all in here, but she told me she felt like she was just being carried along... it's hard to step back and soak in the moments but I think she looks like she is managing to do that in this photo right before the processional.

Besides... look who's waiting at the end of the aisle!

Sam and Elissa had some lovely harp music during the ceremony. It was a little foggy, but I like it for the photos.

Married!

A few pics with the maid of honor and best man...

Making our way back to the cocktail hour...

...but pausing for a few more smooches. So sweet.

The Spiced Pear provided the delicious food for the reception.

I LOVE this cake! Mark Soliday of Confectionery Designs created this little masterpeice.

This beautiful Lilly of the Valley detail is made handmade from sugar!

More lush flora from Toni Chandler.

Elissa's dad gave a heartfelt toast to the newly married couple. Elissa's mom is so proud!

A sweet moment...

Such a great afternoon! Thank you so much for having me there Elissa and Sam!
