Snap Cam runs the Boston Marathon... (kind of)

Posted by Mariah:

Meet Eileen! She's my bride, getting married on November 19th Woo-hoo! Eileen just ran the Boston Marathon- she's ambitious isn't she? I was excited when I found out she was running and asked if her fiancee Doug wouldn't mind taking the snap cam along... Here's Eileen picking up her bib number!

This is Eileen and her friend Shawn... he's also her running buddy. They ran together with the L Street running club in South Boston for the last 18 Sundays!

Here's Eileen 100 yards from the finish! She's in pink- She looks so happy!

...and there she goes. I think she's going to make it!

She did it and her time was 4:34! Here's Eileen showing off her medal and staying warm in her sweats...

This is the cheering squad- Doug's dad & sister, Eileen's sister and Doug's mom!

What a support system!

Here's a little excerpt from the email Eileen wrote me about her adventure...

"The experience was truly amazing and seeing Doug in the crowd got me through, but I was 100 yards from the finish and could not stop to give Doug and my family a big hug like I wanted. I was nervous if I stopped I would not be able to start running again! I wish I could have taken the snap cam with me for the run to capture the moments, but the snap cam hung out with Doug at the finish line waiting for me to finish!"

Last but not least- here's Luna. She was company for Eileen on her weekday runs, although Eileen says anything over 5 miles and Luna was all set- Eileen was on her own!

Thanks for sharing this awesome experience with us- Doug, I am sorry that there are no pictures of you... but that is the plight of the photographer- you are never photographed!

Not to worry, I'll take plenty of shots of you soon!

Snap Cam is swept away to Michelle and Mark

The snap cam is back from its visit with Michelle and Mark.

It arrived just in time! Michelle's mom was visiting for a fun filled weekend of wedding planning!

The first photos were of Mark and this cuddly dog, Cotton. Michelle mentioned that Mark doesn't like cameras so I'm not going to torture him. I want to get on his good side since I will be in front of him with my huge camera someday.
Mark may not like to have his photo taken but he was still in on the snap cam antics. He wanted to make sure Michelle documented the exciting things that she does... Statistics for hours and hours!!!

Michelle is working on her Master's thesis. She told me - and I quote - "I am studying the invasive reed, Phragmites australis, and am looking at the effects of nutrient additions on invasiveness". I think she might be smart...

While Mark wanted to take photos of stats Michelle wanted a ring shot!

Off for a morning stroll with Cotton

Michelle claims she is not a plant person, but she took an awful lot of plant photos. What made her take so many flower photos then? Since Michelle said it so nicely I'll quote her again.
"Amusingly enough I'm not a plant person. Rather it is the potential of spring that gets me... There is a potential ready to be expressed, ready to burst forth... Soon the world will be busy. But for now we are holding our breath in anticipation"

Isn't she lovely? Well said, Michelle.
I think this photo perfectly illustrates what Michelle said. I love this picture! It's a magnolia starting to bloom.

Here's Michelle's cutie pie nephew!

Off to the florists, Lynda Sutton! Here's Michelle's mom holding one of the nautilus shells Michelle and Mark will be using for the unity sand ceremony. Now if they can figure how to keep them standing throughout the ceremony!

Here are some pics of Michelle's parents' summer home in Jamestown. I'm guessing this is where Michelle's love of the ocean started. It will also be the location of the "rehearsal lunch" and our photodate next month. I can't wait to see it when it's warmer and in top form!

Last stop - the Conanicut Yacht Club to check in on the post wedding brunch! Whew!

Thanks for this little peak into your life! Happy wedding planning!

The snap cam visits Lauren and Jeff

Okay...so for our latest snap-cam edition we have the lovely Lauren and Jeff coming at you all the way from Boston, yay! They are getting married in May, it won't be long now. Their wedding is going to be at the Seaport Hotel in Boston which I am really looking forward to! I (Trish) met them last summer at Melissa and Steve's wedding, Lauren was a bridesmaid! So soon it will be her turn...

Their apartment is upstairs from this fab restaurant. I think that all those aromas would be hard to deal with, I would always be hungry!

What a gorgeous winter scene. It's so Boston!

Lauren's favorite statue in the Boston Public Gardens, right near their house.

Coming in for a close up, excellent camera work!

The snow falling is so great, it's just so, so wintery!

Oooh Jeff, love the composition in this one!!!

As much as I like to complain about the winter, it is pretty magical...

Thanks guys, can't wait to see you in the Spring, minus the wool hats!

The Snap Cam visits Charlene, Ryan and Bailey

Charlene and Ryan are planning a fabulous wedding this summer at Indian Pond Country Club. Charlene is a DIY-er bride! I really admire that. How do you find time to plan a wedding and make all these fabulous little details yourself? I think the hard work pays off in the end. It adds that personal touch. Here are some photos of Charlene's DIY projects...

Beautiful Invitations!

How cute is this Save The Date? Ryan did them himself! He is a graphic designer. He merged a photo of him as a child with one of Charlene and Voila! Who is that little puppy behind Ryan you say? I thought you'd never ask!

This is Mr. Bailey AKA "Cling On". Why? Because he goes everywhere with Charlene and Ryan! Here's a series of the cute little pup hanging in the car during a day of errands!

First stop... Pet Smart, of course! Only the best for this little puppy!

Then it's off to the vet! Are you getting the feeling it's all about Bailey? He looks a little nervous in this picture.

Now it's off to RI Rentals to choose the linens for the wedding. The colors and linen quality must have Bailey's stamp of approval.

The next day it was off to the dog park for a two hour walk!

Here's Charlene! She looks INCREDIBLE! She lost 15 pounds since I last saw her! Congrats, Char! That is no easy feat. Must be all this walking that you are doing.

After that it's off to Barnes and Noble for some Starbucks! Charlene is getting some new ideas from the wedding magazines while...

Ryan reads up on manly things like computers and cars.

Let me tell you I'm exhausted just looking at all the stuff these two did in their 24 hours. Somehow after all this Ryan still had enough energy to change the oil in both of their cars! What! Charlene wrote "He is so great! No wonder why I love him!"

Thanks for letting us take a peak into your busy lives and introducing us to the cutest dog ever! Can't wait to see all your finished projects on the wedding day!

The snap! cam was 'wicked awesome' in Boston with Chrissy and Danny

The snap! cam arrived on Chrissy and Danny's doorstep on 2-15-09! We almost made it for Valentine's Day! Darn!

Here's the lovely couple just getting back from a romantic Valentine's/engagement anniversary trip in North Conway, NH. They stayed at Danny's Uncle's hotel, The While Mountain Hotel. Now, that's the kind of family hook up I want!

Here's the flowers that Danny's Aunt and Uncle put in the hotel room for them. So sweet! The hotel is located in a super cute little village with its own general store, Zeb's.

Chrissy made Danny red velvet cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting! Yummy!

Here is Ivory! She is a snuggly little cat who is always looking for lovin'.

I love this pic of the Chestnut Hill T stop! It was President's Day and Chrissy was out and about doing errands.

Danny is currently attending Boston College for his MBA. Pretty impressive! We've got a lot of brainy grooms this year!

Off to the gym! Gotta get in the shape for the wedding. I hate to break it you, Chrissy and Danny, but you're both already slim and trim!

This YMCA is right down the street from their condo.

Here's Danny becoming a mean, lean, wedding machine right before our eyes!

Here's Danny and Chrissy in front of their car, a Prius! Love it! They drove this car here from California where they met. They decided to move back to the east coast to be closer to family.

Here's Chrissy filling out her snap! cam journal. Thanks for giving us the 411 on the photos!

I love little Ivory trying to sneak on her lap. It's a classic cat move.

These snap! cams always come back and make me hungry! Everyone's making great food! Chrissy was inspired to make a delicious mushroom salad while she was watching the food network at the gym.

Mmmmm! The dressing is fresh lemon juice, olive oil and salt and pepper. It looked so good that I went on the food network's web site. I think I found the recipe here.

Nice self portrait, guys!

Thanks for letting us peak into a day in the life. Can't wait to see you on the big day!
